While your standard toothbrush will definitely clean your teeth, an interproximal brush can make all the difference when you have braces. With a small, flexible end, the bristles on this tiny tool can effectively move around your brackets and between the archwire, ensuring no pesky food particles or debris get trapped. Plus, it\u2019s effective at removing plaque, so it\u2019ll continue to be useful even after you\u2019ve completed your orthodontic treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#2. A Floss Threader<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Flossing at least once a day is essential. Without this important oral hygiene step, only about 60% of the surface of your teeth gets cleaned, significantly increasing your risk of dental problems like cavities. The good news is that flossing doesn\u2019t have to be a hassle thanks to floss threaders. If using a cold compress or rinsing with a mixture of salt and water doesn\u2019t do the trick, take OTC pain medication as directed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
